Engaging the Latinx Community
This 60-minute webinar, led by Arts Consulting Group, explores the changing demographics and opportunities with the growing Latinx community. We look at case study examples from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony, as well as recommendations for inclusive practices and actionable insights from the LatinXperience Study. We also learn about the two mindsets identified by the study for engaging with the arts – the Pride mindset and the Progress mindset.

CITES Treaty Negotiations Include Musical Instrument Policies
The League of American Orchestras was a voice for the music community in what is being called “game changing” treaty negotiations over international protected species rules. The 17th conference of the parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) was the largest event in the treaty’s more than 40-year history, and the array of issues under consideration included two key areas that will impact the rules for musical instruments that cross borders among the 183 party countries.

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee of the League of American Orchestras Board of Directors is a dedicated and highly engaged group of board members who meet on a quarterly basis to discuss directions and areas of focus for the League’s EDI work. The committee focuses on implementing inclusive best practices within the League Board.
