Artistic Programs
In This SectionThe League of American Orchestras champions the great music of the past, with a steadfast commitment to the new and Black, Brown, and female-identifying voices that will shape and re-imagine our artform in the future. Through the League’s flagship artistic programs—the Ford Musician Awards, Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview, and Virginia B. Toulmin Orchestral Commissions Program for women composers—we raise the visibility of exceptional composers, conductors, and musicians. Members of artistic constituency groups regularly come together throughout the year to share, discuss, challenge, and support each other in conversations around the pressing topics of today; paving the way for a stronger, highly informed, and resilient orchestral ecosystem.
