In a matter of weeks, the world has changed dramatically for orchestras. Public spaces are closed, events are canceled, and orchestras are forced to abandon the balance of the concert season. With single ticket revenue instantly drying up, and subscription money for next season slowing, the only reliable stream of revenue has become fundraising.

A new initiative in the arts from The Wallace Foundation
The Wallace Foundation has announced a five-year, $53 million initiative focusing on arts organizations of color, and is inviting eligible arts organizations to apply. Wallace is also inviting researchers to submit proposals for studies associated with the initiative. The open call to submit applications runs through August 13, 2021.

Conference 2021: TRG’s "KPI's of Comeback"
We’ve learned many things over 2020-2021. From the importance of relationships (organizations that entered into 2020 with higher proportions of active audience members in their databases experienced greater resiliency during COVID) to the power of messaging (donors in 2020 were motivated by community impact stories). As we began to welcome audiences back in our venues, knowing which key performance indicators (KPIs) to follow fueled our success.
