Grant Programs

National funders have looked to the League of American Orchestras for leadership in regranting funds to orchestras to help them address critical needs. Previous programs have included the American Orchestras’ Futures Fund and The Catalyst Fund. The Futures Fund, with support from the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation, helped to spark a culture of innovation and experimentation among orchestras. The Catalyst Fund, with support from the Mellon Foundation and additional support from the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, helped orchestras by providing grants to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion through internal capacity building and organizational development.

These grant programs benefitted not only the grantees, but the entire field. The League created resources and learning events based on the grantees’ work so that all orchestras can learn from the their experiences.
