By donating to the League of American Orchestras, you’re ensuring that ever-growing audiences from coast to coast can experience the thrill of orchestral music for years to come.  Your support helps us provide programs, research and learning resources that help orchestras, their staff and their boards to grow, innovate, and thrive.

As of January 1, 2026, non-itemizers can claim charitable deductions of up to $1,000 for individuals and $2,000 for couples.

  • You can make a one-time or recurring gift using the form above. Making a gift through our online portal is the easiest and most secure way to make your gift.

If your company or your spouse’s company has a matching gift program, please contact that company’s benefits office for information about how your gift qualifies for a corporate match.

If you prefer not to give online, there are several other ways to make your gift. If you have questions about any of these giving options, please email giving@americanorchestras.org.

Other Ways to Give
  • Gifts of Stock

Donating gifts of appreciated stock directly to the League may provide you with a tax deduction and allow you to avoid capital gains taxes. If you donate stock that has increased in value since you bought it more than a year ago, and if you itemize deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the stock on the day you make the donation. You can avoid capital gains taxes on the increase in value over time by donating the stock directly to the League.

Please complete the Incoming Gift Notification form (PDF) to help us identify your gift when it arrives to ensure you are properly credited. Stock gifts arrive WITHOUT DONOR NAMES attached.
  • Gifts through Donor-Advised Funds

Donating through Donor-Advised Funds is an easy way to support the League. Contact your fund administrator and let them know that you want to make a recommendation for a gift to the League.

Note: If you cannot find “League of American Orchestras” when you search for a recipient organization, please search for “American Symphony Orchestra League.”
  • Gifts from your IRA Account

If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can give directly from a traditional IRA to the League without counting the distribution as taxable income. For 2026, the limit is $111,000 per person; spouses may each give up to that amount from their own accounts. Once you reach the age when required minimum distributions begin, a QCD counts toward your RMD for the year.

A QCD is not a charitable deduction—the amount is left out of your income entirely, which can be worth more than a deduction if you do not itemize. The gift must travel directly from your IRA custodian to the League. Your custodian may ask for our legal name (American Symphony Orchestra League) and our Tax ID number (23-7300636). Please email giving@americanorchestras.org to notify us that a QCD is on the way to ensure the gift is properly credited to you.
  • Mailing a check is the least secure method of making your gift. We highly recommend that you make your gift online or by wire transfer to avoid significant delivery delays or checks going astray. If you cannot give online, you can mail in your gift by sending a check, made payable to the League of American Orchestras, to:

League of American Orchestras
Attn: Sarah Generes
520 8th Avenue, Suite 2203
New York, NY 10018
