Traveling with Ivory: Canada Announces New Permit Rules
Canada has announced that, beginning January 8, 2024, Canadian-issued import and export permits will now be required for travel in and out of Canada with ivory, in addition to the required permits already issued by a musician’s home country.

Visa Petition Fee Increases Next Week
U.S. petitioners that program international guest artists should prepare for steep fee increases in filing visa petitions with USCIS, effective next Friday, October 2, 2020. New versions of the Form I-129 were to have been released well in advance of this date, but as of September 23, the public is still awaiting approved versions of the new and I-129 forms.

Tips for Traveling by Air
Musicians have long encountered difficulty and uncertainty when traveling with musical instruments by air. Immediately following the events of September 11, 2001, a national coalition of concerned organizations including the League of American Orchestras and the American Federation of Musicians, began influencing policy and crafting tips for making reservations, packing instruments, and calmly dealing with last-minute problems.
