Conference 2024’s general session featured an interactive session led by Donna Walker-Kuhne and Dr. Durell Cooper on the creation of strategies that integrate community engagement, inclusion, and marketing into new holistic approaches to audience development.
An international cohort of thirty-six orchestra and arts professionals will participate in Essentials of Orchestra Management, the League of American Orchestras’ premier leadership development program. The ten-day program, running from July 24-August 2, 2024, is presented in collaboration with Juilliard Extension and will take place in New York at Juilliard’s campus at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Nearly 1,000 orchestra administrators, conductors, musicians, board members, and volunteers will receive a Texas-style welcome at the League of American Orchestras National Conference in Houston, June 6-8, 2024, filled with music, learning opportunities, and networking events. This is the first time a League Conference will be held in Houston.

The League of American Orchestras cares deeply about the safety and well-being of everyone connected to orchestral music. Our commitments are to help the victims and survivors of sexual misconduct access the help they need, to provide orchestras with essential resources as they continue building inclusive and supportive organizations, and to convene field-wide dialogue to change the cultures that lead to exclusion and harm.
Thirty orchestras from across the United States will take part in the League of American Orchestras’ Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program, the League and American Composers Orchestra (ACO) have announced. This national consortium ensures that new works by women and nonbinary composers will receive multiple performances throughout the country.
