Honoring Anne Parsons, the transformative orchestra field leader and mentor who passed away in 2022, the three-year pilot mentoring program aims to effect structural change by supporting women and non-binary orchestra professionals in their career progressions, and ultimately improving gender equity within the C-suite.

Clark brings over 10 years’ experience implementing strategic initiatives and overseeing financial management for non-profit organizations.

Judy Dines, William L. Gettys, Leslie Lassiter, John Lofton, Michael R. Mayton, and Robert W. McDonald have joined the League of American Orchestras' Board of Directors; each will serve a three-year term. Lowell J. Noteboom, Steven C. Parrish, and Anne Parsons (deceased) were elected to the League’s Emeritus Board.

Thirty Orchestras Selected to Join League of American Orchestras' New Consortium, Presenting Newly-Commissioned Works by Six Women Composers
Thirty orchestras will take part in the League of American Orchestras’ Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program. The unprecedented national consortium ensures that new works by women composers, each commissioned by the League, will be infused in orchestra seasons to come, with multiple performances throughout the country.

35 Orchestra and Arts Professionals Selected to Attend League of American Orchestras’ Flagship Essentials of Orchestra Management Program in New York City
A select cohort of 35 orchestra and arts professionals have been chosen from the United States and Canada to participate in Essentials of Orchestra Management, the League of American Orchestras’ premier leadership development program. The ten-day seminar, running from July 24-August 2, 2022, is presented in collaboration with Juilliard Extension and will take place in New York at Juilliard’s Lincoln Center Campus.

League of American Orchestras Launches Unprecedented 30-Orchestra Consortium, Commissions New Works by Six Women Composers
Generating an infusion of new music by women on orchestra stages over the next several seasons, the League of American Orchestras will commission orchestral works from six women composers and form a consortium of thirty U.S. orchestras to perform the works across the country (five orchestras will be paired with each composer).

Forward Together: Orchestra Field Reunites In Person in Los Angeles for League of American Orchestras National Conference, June 1-3, 2022
After online convenings in 2020 and 2021, the League of American Orchestras National Conference will take place in person again, hosted this year by the Los Angeles Philharmonic in partnership with the Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO). Nearly 1,000 orchestra administrators, musicians, board members, and volunteers will explore the theme “Forward Together” at Los Angeles’ Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites, June 1-3, 2022.

Twenty U.S. Orchestras to Receive Three-Year Catalyst Fund Incubator Grants, Incorporating Elements from High-Tech Incubator Models to Accelerate Organizational Inclusivity and Field-Wide Learning

League of American Orchestras 2022 Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview To Showcase Six Next-Gen Conductors Leading the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra
Conductors Bertie Baigent, Tong Chen, Gonzalo Farias, Norman Huynh, Yuwon Kim, and François López-Ferrer will lead the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at the League of American Orchestras’ Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview, March 16-17, 2022 at New Orleans’s Orpheum Theater. A free concert at 7:30 pm CST on March 17 caps the event.
