In Solidarity with the Black Orchestral Network
The League of American Orchestras supports the Black Orchestral Network and shares its goals for change. The scarcity of Black musicians on orchestral stages harms us all, and we must move urgently to address this as a field. The League is committed to providing data, learning resources, and convening opportunities to advance change, and we call upon the individual musicians, staff members, board members, and other supporters of American orchestras to engage deeply and collectively to make measurable progress in this work. We thank the musicians of BON for their leadership, and we look forward to collaboratively bringing forth a more diverse and vital orchestral community that accesses the broadest talent and inspires the widest audiences.
