Join us as we dive into books about musical topics and share ideas within this community in a low-stress way!
The Book Club will be held Tuesday, September 9 from 1:00-2:30pm Eastern via Zoom. We will be discussing excerpts from Renee Fleming’s anthology Music and Mind: Harnessing the Arts for Health and Wellness. If you joined us to discuss Haruki Murakami’s Absolutely on Music: Conversations with Seiji Ozawa, please note that you will need to register again for this event.
While you are welcome to read the full book, here are the selected chapters for our discussion:
- Overture: Renée Fleming
- How and Why: Nina Kraus
- The Medical Muse: J. Todd Frazier
- Health in the Spotlight: Ben Folds, Deborah Rutter, Sarah Johnson
- Creative Learning: Indre Viskontas, Stanford Thompson, Francisco Núñez
- Music as Therapy: Stacie Aamon Yeldell, Concetta Tomaino
- Science: A Deeper Dive: Assal Habibi et al.
