Deborah Borda has not only led two of the nation’s most prominent orchestras through periods of remarkable growth and development, but she has extended the boundaries of what an orchestra can be in the 21st century and been an inspiration to many in the field. In this session, she received the Gold Baton Award, the League’s highest honor, and was interviewed by author, narrator, and filmmaker Jamie Bernstein about her career.

This session will also include a preview of the League’s new Orchestra Demographic Report updated for the first time since 2016, as well as the League’s Annual Meeting, where you will hear updates from the League and elect new board members.
