Speaker(s): Lindsey Nova, Executive Director, Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras; Sonja Thoms, Vice President & General Manager, Nashville Symphony and Creator, OrchestraCareers.com
Looking ahead 20 years, who are your orchestra’s future leaders, musicians, audience members, and donors? What is important to the young people of today, the inheritors of this art form?
Deepen your understanding of the priorities of the next generation as we review the findings of a nationwide survey of current high school youth orchestra students, undergraduate and graduate music majors, and recent graduates. Learn who plans to attend concerts as an adult, who plans to donate to orchestras as an adult, their thoughts about orchestras’ work in equity, diversity, and inclusion, and what barriers prevent them from going to more concerts.
