ALAANA Affinity Group

First organized in 2018 in conjunction with the League’s National Conference in Chicago, the ALAANA Affinity Group gathers to support orchestra leaders, administrators, and musicians who identify as people of African, Latinx, Asian, Arab/Middle Eastern, or Native American descent (ALAANA). 

League members at all levels of responsibility in their organization and at all points in their orchestra careers, from new hires to veterans in the field, are welcome to join the group.

Creating a sense of belonging where people feel comfortable sharing their ideas allows the orchestra field to benefit from everyone’s talent and abilities. The League’s ALAANA affinity group aims to foster this sense of belonging, through regular networking and knowledge-sharing events.
