Don’t stop now! Weigh in with Congress on Year-end COVID-19 Relief
December 2, 2020
Orchestras continue to speak up in partnership with the League and the broader arts and nonprofit sectors, and the many months of connecting with Congress are truly making a difference. Please don’t stop now!
The U.S. House and Senate are negotiating the final bills that will cross the finish line before the end of the year. COVID-19 proposals on the table this week include dedicated relief funding for the live performing arts, Paycheck Protection Program forgivable loans, enhanced charitable giving incentives, extended pandemic unemployment benefits extension, and more. In these final days of deal-making, please take two minutes to polish up your strongest talking points and explain why COVID relief cannot be delayed and what is at stake the longer Congress goes without providing help.
Despite the never-ending feel to these conversations, please stay vigilant and engaged! As the League amplifies your voice in Washington, D.C., no one can relay the urgency of what is at stake and what is needed better than you.
By speaking up now, you’ll be advocating alongside arts organizations nationwide, and also in collaboration with the broader nonprofit sector. Today is a designated nonprofit Day of Action to urge #Relief4Charities. Thank you for joining in this day and the days to come to remind Congress why your orchestra and your community need additional relief now!
