Jennifer Melick is a writer, amateur singer and pianist, devoted orchestra and opera fan, and recovering oboist. Her favorite books include Elif Batuman’s The Idiot, Tolstoy’s War and Peace, and Roz Chast’s Mondo Boxo. A New Jersey native, she can often be found biking or walking by the ocean. She once visited Amsterdam as a side trip from Paris in order to hear Berlioz’s Les Troyens, and has twice dragged her children to New York City to hear Janelle Monae perform.
