Communications

The director of communication/public relations develops and implements media strategies that promote a positive brand identity for the orchestra. As spokesperson for the organization, the director fulfills media requests, actively seeks coverage for the full spectrum of orchestra activities, works with staff to ensure consistent delivery of messages relating to the orchestra’s mission, supervises publications (such as program books and brochures), and determines positioning of news releases and press events. Interacts with senior management and board, maintains contact with all departments, and cultivates media contacts. Requires outstanding communication skills, experience in PR or media relations, and appreciation of classical music.
