Second NEA FY10 Grants to Orchestras Announced - (May, 10, 2010)

Orchestras in 53 communities will provide educational programming, workshops, residencies, master classes, tours, and community concerts with the support of $1,506,300 in grants recently awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The second round of FY10 NEA grant awards was announced on April 22 in the major funding categories of Access to Artistic Excellence Part Two and Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth.

In addition to these major categories, Arts on Radio and Television grants will support radio broadcasts by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Seattle Symphony. Also, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and Apollo's Fire, The Cleveland Baroque Orchestra will receive support in the FY10 American Masterpieces: Chamber Music category to fund smaller ensemble work.
